About the agency

The people and the record behind MY CNTM.

MY CNTM is not a platform, a marketplace or a reseller. It is the international brand of one Chinese trademark agency — Zhongdu International Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd. — and the site you are reading is where that entity can be checked.

MY CNTM is a brand name, not a separate legal entity. The company that contracts with you, holds your instructions and appears on the CNIPA register is Zhongdu International Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd..

Who we are

A professional trademark agency established in China.

Zhongdu International Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd. was established in 2018 in Shandong Province, in the heart of one of China's most active manufacturing regions. We act for foreign companies and individuals who need trademarks registered and protected in mainland China.

Our practice is intentionally specialised. Everything we do runs through the Chinese Trademark Office — availability searches, applications, examination responses, oppositions, invalidations, cancellations, recordals and renewals. We do not offer other jurisdictions, and we do not present ourselves as anything other than what we are: a Chinese trademark agency, working in English, for clients based abroad.

Being based where our clients' goods are often made is not incidental. Questions about who actually filed a mark, what a supplier registered, or what a factory's packaging now says, look different when your agency is in the same province as the factories.

Why "MY CNTM". The name states the service: your brand, handled on the ground in China. Running a Chinese trademark matter from abroad should not require reading Chinese — so the practice is local and the working language is English, with one point of contact from first enquiry to last recordal.

Our name

Why our Chinese name carries no city prefix.

Chinese company names normally begin with the province or city of registration. Ours does not — the 免冠 form, in which that prefix is omitted. Under China's enterprise name registration rules, that form cannot be granted by a local authority: it may only be approved by the State Administration for Market Regulation at national level.

It is a small detail with a practical use. When a brand owner is choosing an agency in a country they have never worked in, "approved nationally" and "filed with the Trademark Office" are two claims that can be verified in a few minutes on public registers. We would rather be judged on those than on adjectives.

Milestones

Our journey since 2018.

  1. 2018

    Company founded in Shandong

    1,000th trademark case completed

By this point we had completed our thousandth registration matter, for clients from more than 30 countries.

Our international work expanded to brand owners and their local counsel in more than fifty countries.

Our standards

What you can expect from us.

The commitments below are the ones we are prepared to be held to.

Scope and fees agreed in writing

Before any work starts you receive a written description of what will be done and what it costs. If something further becomes necessary, you hear about it first — nothing is added silently to a bill.

A reply within one business day

Enquiries are answered within one business day, Monday to Friday (GMT+8). Urgent matters get a same-day acknowledgement.

Confidential handling

Your instructions and documents are treated as confidential and are not shared with third parties, except where disclosure is required to file or prosecute your application. A filed application becomes part of the public CNIPA register.

English throughout

Advice, reports, documents and invoices are written in English. Chinese is used only where a document must be filed in Chinese before the Trademark Office — and you always receive the English counterpart.
